Moji Riba is a filmmaker and cultural activist from Arunachal Pradesh and recipient of the Rolex Awards for Enterprise (Associate Laureate). Rolex recognized MojiÂ for â€˜helping to preserve and document the rich cultural heritage of Indiaâ€™s Arunachal Pradesh. He is one among only four Indians to have received this award.
As founder Executive Director of the Centre for Cultural Research & Documentation, he has been engaged in understanding how tribes in the region are adapting to the processes of cultural change; using film screenings, outreach programs in schools and colleges, workshops, cross-regional dissemination of films, photo-documentation and exhibitions, scholarships, research and filming. Currently, he has to his credit the making of over 30 documentaries that look at issues from a culture-centered perspective.
He is also Head, Department of Mass Communication, Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar that he helped establish.
